Hey everyone! My name is Olivia Egert and I am proud to be serving as your 2022 Miss Mississippi Crown’s Outstanding Teen. This is my third year involved in the Miss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen Organization, however, this will be only my second year competing for the title. Due to the pandemic, I was given the opportunity to work with the Miss Mississippi Crown team for an extra year. In my journey to the Miss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen title, I have been able to grow my passion for my social impact initiative Project Next in Line - Building the Leader Within You.
Project Next in Line is built on the three pillars of student volunteerism, student activism, and student leadership. Student leadership is the main pillar as it is what I believe to be the foundation of a successful young generation. I realized what my social impact initiative would be the summer before my sophomore year of year school. Ever since I started high school, I found joy in every service/leadership opportunity available. One of the many leadership opportunities the high school offered me was the Illinois Association of Student Councils. The summer before sophomore year, I represented my council at the state's leadership workshop. There, I was able to learn the core leadership roles everyone falls under. This was a super emotional week for me as it taught me things I would’ve never dug deep enough to find myself.
In my prep for Miss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen, I have been advocating for the three pillars of my platform by taking every opportunity life gifts me. Seeing that God’s plan was for me to be sick with my Mississippi Crown family for three years, I have been utilizing the MMC Dream Team to prep to the fullest! I’m super excited to be back on the Miss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen stage in just a few short weeks. I’ve been working really hard to make sure the products I leave out on that stage are ones that leave me proud.
